Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) : A Challenge for Business Decision

Across the globe, business leaders are trying hard to balance conflicting demands from communities, government and advocacy groups about their role in economic advancement, social development and environment improvement. Nowadays, by producing good products that satisfy consumer and complying with laws and regulations are simply not enough. Businesses will have to manage the wider social and environmental consequences of their actions beyond the requirements of the legal and regulatory settings in which they operate.

How can businesses respond to these demands? How can they develop strategies to produce the best balance of business value and social value at the same time? Our main objective and focus of the APDSI Conference is to provide a venue for discussions and to help businesses identify effective ways of building business value and social value at the same time, and on the other hand, helping businesses to avoid inappropriate roles and responsibilities that might be against them.
